Vinefest and moving to Manchester

Are my creative juices flowing? Let’s just thank ‘God’ (Richard Hawking) that Anya comes from a family of moppers.

Vinefest planning is going well. The only speaker who appearance I am beginning to doubt is Richard Dreyfuss from the USA. Richard: Saying you will do something over the phone means nothing. I need confirmation written, or the very least you doing an ‘OK’ hand signal into a webcam. Take me seriously; I am NOT Emilio Estevez.

I’ve already decided to move to Manchester as I believe I have outgrown London now. Plus, there is a vibrant networking scene of gullible young professionals just ready to be exploited! I’ve even started learning the language: “Hey, guys! Why is it always raining? Get me a taxi to the northern quarter, where it always shines yeah!”

I’m looking for an apartment, sure. It’s important that it is right in the centre of town and it is as soulless as possible, so I can fill it with the soul of business (if you don’t know what this is then just get out of the game, pal). I have already put in an order for two canvas prints. One of Alan Sugars and one by Banksy is of a man lifting up a car only to find Mel Gibson is living inside his mother’s brain. It’s sure to be a certain conversation-starter when I invite people over for a ‘business lunch’ (starter: coffee, main: fast-talking, dessert: hardball). If that doesn’t start a conversation, I’ll just ask Anya to show her massive biceps. Show ‘em who’s boss, my Eastern European Heavyweight Champion!

All that remains for me to do is find a place where I can stage Vinefest – The Biggest Networking Event Of All Times. I’m thinking an old mill in the heart of Manchester, that way I can marry the dignified community focal point of a community gone by with Twitter – its exact opposite. Breaking the rules? I’m Gary Vine.
